New child development clinic opens in Lucknow
Lucknow has a new clinic dedicated to helping children with developmental delays and disorders. Apollomedics Hospitals opened this child development clinic on Thursday. Research from the World Health Organization shows that about 5% of children under 14 have some developmental issue. This can include conditions like autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and speech delays. Dr. Pranjali Saxena, an associate director at the hospital, explained that developmental and behavioral disorders are increasingly common. She mentioned that several factors play a role, including genetics, environment, and health issues during early childhood. Other factors such as nuclear family structures, older parents, excessive screen time, and risky pregnancies may also contribute. Dr. Saxena emphasized the importance of early identification of these delays. She believes that intervening early can lead to better outcomes for children. The clinic aims to diagnose issues quickly and provide effective treatments to help children grow and develop. Dr. Mayank Somani, the hospital's MD and CEO, expressed hope that the clinic will significantly impact the lives of many children and their families. He stated that their team would offer guidance to families navigating these challenges.
