New exhibit at History Colorado explores legacy of Denver's Chinatown
A new exhibit titled "Where is Denver's Chinatown?" has opened at History Colorado, marking the anniversary of the Anti-Chinese Riot that occurred on October 31, 1880. The exhibit highlights the experiences of Chinese immigrant families who continued to thrive despite the violence. The exhibit features stories from descendants of those who lived in Chinatown, showcasing their contributions to the community. It aims to educate visitors about this often-overlooked part of Denver's history and the resilience of Chinese families. "Where is Denver's Chinatown?" will be on display until August 9, 2025. It includes models envisioning a re-imagined Chinatown, created by students from the University of Colorado Denver.
