New expressway links Mathura to Yamuna Expressway for pilgrims

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced plans to enhance travel and tourism in Mathura. A new six-lane expressway will connect Banke Bihari Temple directly to the Yamuna Expressway. This development aims to attract more pilgrims and tourists to the area. The Yamuna Expressway is already known for improving travel between Noida and Agra. The extension will now link Mathura and Aligarh to this efficient route. This project is part of a larger effort to create a heritage corridor in Mathura, similar to those in Ayodhya and Kashi. Alok Kumar, a government official, confirmed that the project has been approved. He shared the news on social media, highlighting its potential benefits for tourism in the religious city. The new expressway is expected to increase visits to the famed temple in Mathura. The expansion includes plans for the development of various facilities along the expressway. These will include convention centers, agricultural institutes, and hotels, among other facilities. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of this initiative. While at a Holi event, he said that Mathura is set for improvements similar to what Ayodhya and Varanasi have experienced.
