New fire station planned near Chamundi Hills, Mysuru
The Mysuru Department of Fire and Emergency Services is looking for government land to build a new fire station near the Chamundi Hills. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the station in the Budget, allocating ₹3 crore for its establishment. This will be the fifth fire station in Mysuru, with the last one built over a decade ago. The city has seen rapid growth, increasing the need for fire services, especially after a recent major fire in the area. Officials are exploring several locations for the new station, requiring at least one acre of land. The fire department is also seeking new vehicles to replace aging ones, as they prepare for an increase in fire-related calls during the summer.
