New Hampshire educators discuss AI tools for teaching
School leaders from New Hampshire met on Tuesday to discuss the use of artificial intelligence in education. The event took place at the Day of AI summit at New Hampshire Technical Institute. Educators learned about AI tools designed to assist with grading, lesson planning, and communication with parents. The tools presented were developed by MIT's Responsible AI for Social Empowerment in Education program. Organizers stressed the importance of teachers understanding what AI tools are available and how they can help in schools. Jeffrey Riley, a former education commissioner from Massachusetts, led the event. He highlighted the growing presence of AI in everyday life. He pointed out AI's role in tasks like predicting text and detecting medical issues in hospitals. Riley encouraged educators to embrace AI rather than resist it. He believes that with the right approach, AI can grow to meet the specific needs of teachers and improve their work.
