New Hampshire justice accused of interfering in husband's investigation
A New Hampshire Supreme Court justice, Anna Barbara Hantz Marconi, is facing serious allegations connected to her husband, Geno Marconi. He is the Director of the New Hampshire Port Authority and is accused of witness tampering and destroying evidence related to a criminal investigation. Geno Marconi, 73, is embroiled in a dispute over his family's chowder business. Prosecutors say he tried to illegally access the driving records of a director at the Pease Development Authority who had reported him for mismanagement. The allegations include bullying a neighboring seafood restaurant to benefit his own business. Anna Marconi, 69, is accused of trying to interfere in the investigation. Reports state she approached former New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu to claim the investigation lacked merit, saying it was based on bias. This has led to her facing a trial as well. Both Anna and Geno Marconi have denied any wrongdoing. Anna has been placed on paid leave from her position since July. Geno plans to contest his charges in November while also taking steps towards retirement amid this scandal. The legal troubles extend to Bradley Cook, a colleague of Geno's, who faces charges of perjury for reportedly lying under oath about his discussions with Marconi regarding the driving records. The Attorney General's office has stated they cannot provide further comments beyond the indictments.
