New Hampshire voters express anger over Democratic inaction
New Hampshire Rep. Maggie Goodlander faced tough questions from constituents during a town hall in Concord on Thursday. More than 200 people attended the meeting, urging her and other Democrats to fight harder against President Donald Trump. Many attendees expressed anger over what they see as a weak response from the Democratic Party. One resident, Lisa Perrone, criticized the party's lack of action, saying, “There is no fight in the Democratic Party anymore.” She felt disappointed and let down by her representatives. Other attendees shared similar frustrations. They expressed concerns about the government's right-leaning agenda and the Democrats' perceived inaction. Retired teacher Karen Maitland emphasized the need for a clear strategy. She compared Democrats to coaches who should have a playbook to follow in their efforts. Maitland urged Goodlander and her colleagues to take stronger leadership and steer the party in a better direction. Goodlander, who voted against a recent Republican-backed spending bill, acknowledged the anger in the room. She told attendees that the U.S. Constitution is facing serious challenges and emphasized the need for relentless governance. However, she also stressed her commitment to working across party lines. Throughout the meeting, Goodlander encouraged constituents to stay active, attend rallies, and voice their concerns to representatives. She recognized the strong emotions present, describing them as “holy anger.” Goodlander called for unity among those opposing Trump to achieve their goals.
