New Invincible comic explores Battle Beast's backstory

A new Invincible comic, titled "Invincible Universe: Battle Beast," will be released in May 2025. This comic will explore the story of Battle Beast, a popular character in the series, just before the release of Season 4 of the animated show. Robert Kirkman, the comic's creator, has partnered again with artist Ryan Ottley. They previously worked together on the original Invincible comic series, which ended after 144 issues. The new comic will focus on what happened to Battle Beast between issues #19 and #55. Fans last saw Battle Beast in the Season 3 finale, where he was picked up by a spaceship after a fight. The comic aims to fill in the gaps about his story during that time. Kirkman expressed his excitement about returning to this universe, saying, "I just can't get enough of the Invincible Universe!" Ottley also shared his enthusiasm for the project. He recalled how he and Kirkman created Battle Beast and how the character unexpectedly became a favorite among fans.
