New Irish Navy vessel Fionnghuala launched in Co Kerry

A new vessel for the Irish Naval Service Reserve, named Fionnghuala, was launched on Valentia Island in Co Kerry. This is the first ship built in Ireland for the Navy since 1984. Fionnghuala features advanced capabilities for training, search and rescue, and maritime security. It includes twin gun mounts, a custom mast for communications, and equipment for dive operations. The vessel was constructed by FM Marine Services, using several Irish suppliers. The launch was attended by representatives from the Irish Naval Service and FM Marine Services.
