New Jersey has low weather-related vehicle crash rates
A new study highlights some positives about New Jersey's weather, despite common complaints from residents. The state experiences a mix of weather patterns due to its geographical location, sitting between the North Pole and the Equator. New Jersey’s climate varies from a humid subtropical environment in the south to a humid continental climate in the north. This causes unpredictable weather, such as droughts and unusually warm Thanksgivings. Although the weather can be unusual, the study suggests there are benefits for drivers in the state. According to research from Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings, New Jersey has a relatively low rate of weather-related car accidents. The study analyzed data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and found that New Jersey had 2,901 such accidents in the last two years. This number is lower than in 23 other states. With a rate of 31.12 accidents per 100,000 people, New Jersey ranks fourth lowest in weather-related crashes in the country. Only Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New York have lower rates. New Jersey also has fewer weather-related accidents than its neighbors, Pennsylvania and New York. So, while residents might grumble about their weather, the statistics show that driving conditions in New Jersey are better than many other states.
