New Jersey man charged with murder after car crash
Bruno Laboy Santiago, a 33-year-old man from Trenton, is facing charges for murder related to a shooting incident. He is accused of shooting and killing 25-year-old Wilmer Eliu Vidal Romero after a car crash on March 13, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. Police arrived at the scene in Trenton after receiving reports of gunfire. They found Vidal Romero with a gunshot wound in his vehicle. He was taken to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead. The investigation showed that Laboy Santiago and Vidal Romero had been involved in a car accident shortly before the shooting occurred. Authorities claim that Laboy Santiago shot Vidal Romero intentionally after the crash. Laboy Santiago was arrested on Wednesday during a traffic stop in Louisiana. He is currently held at a local jail and awaits extradition back to New Jersey. If convicted, he could face between 30 years to life in prison for murder, along with additional time for gun charges. The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to reach out to the Mercer County Homicide Task Force.
