New luxury hotel to replace Montauk’s Sands Motel
A new luxury hotel called Offshore Montauk is set to open this summer on Long Island's East End. The hotel will be located where the Sands Motel once stood. Room prices will be quite high, ranging from $700 to $2,000 during busy holiday weekends. The hotel has 43 newly renovated rooms, a state-of-the-art spa, a pool, and a gym. It will also feature a restaurant and bar on the rooftop, which is expected to open next summer. In other news, the Taste of the West Side event is returning after five years. It will feature over 70 chefs and take place on May 30 and 31 at the Louis Brandeis Campus. The event will support the charity Lifeforce in Later Years and will include live performances. Tickets go on sale March 24 for prices starting at $125. Additionally, a new fast-casual Greek restaurant called AMMA Fresh Greek will open this summer in Manhattan. Renowned chef Lefteris Lazarou is behind the menu, which highlights traditional Greek dishes with vegetarian and healthy options. The restaurant aims to provide a casual dining experience. Lastly, a new shop called BUBA Bureka will open on April 3, specializing in burekas, a popular Mediterranean pastry. The shop is a collaboration between Chef Ben Siman-Tov and Breads Bakery founder Gadi Peleg. The menu will offer a variety of fillings and will change seasonally to include new creations.
