New "Prison Break" pilot casts several familiar actors

Hulu and 20th Television have announced exciting casting news for their pilot of "Prison Break." Clayton Cardenas and JR Bourne, both previously known for their roles in "Mayans M.C.," will join the project. They are joined by Georgie Flores and Myles Bullock, marking a diverse cast. Elgin James, co-creator of "Mayans M.C.," is leading the project as a writer and executive producer. Other main cast members include Emily Browning, Lukas Gage, and Drake Rodger. This new show will exist in the same universe as the original "Prison Break," but it will not feature the original characters like Michael Scofield or Lincoln Burrows. Cardenas will play a character named “Ghost,” a dangerous inmate. Bullock portrays “Darius ‘Red’ Lewis,” another inmate, while Flores takes on the role of “Andrea,” a female cadet training to be a Corrections Officer. Bourne will play “Junior,” a mentally unstable survivor from a past prison break. The original "Prison Break" debuted in 2005 and became a hit. It followed Michael Scofield as he tried to save his brother from death row. The show aired for four seasons, ending with a TV film in 2009, and had a sequel series in 2015. "Prison Break" was the most streamed series in the U.S. in August 2024, with all episodes available on Hulu. James is producing the new pilot alongside some executive producers from the original series. Cardenas and Bourne are returning to work with him, promising fans of the show an interesting continuation of the "Prison Break" story.
