A new season of the popular anime "Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt" is set to release this July, marking the show's return after over 15 years. A new trailer and teaser for the revival were recently shared, introducing two new characters. The new series is being produced by Studio Trigger. They obtained the rights from the original creators, Studio Gainax, in 2022. Many original staff members are back to work on this project, including director Hiroyuki Imaishi and scriptwriter Hiromi Wakabayashi. The new characters include two angel brothers named Polyester and Polyurethane. They will be voiced by Junya Enoki and Yuto Uemura, respectively. Other returning voice actors include Akeno Watanabe and Yuko Natsuyoshi, taking over roles from previous actors. The show is set in Daten City, a place filled with supernatural spirits called "Ghosts." The main characters, Panty and Stocking, aim to combat these evil beings. The show mixes humor and animation styles reminiscent of earlier cartoons, promising a fresh take suitable for 2025.
