New series explores Jason Todd's origin as Robin

Jeff Lemire, known for his work on Sweet Tooth, is back with artist Dustin Nguyen. They are creating a new limited series called Robin & Batman: Jason Todd. This follows their previous series from 2022, which focused on Batman's first Robin, Dick Grayson. In the new three-issue run, the spotlight is on Jason Todd, the second Robin. He has a troubled past and fought alongside Batman in the 1980s. His story took a dark turn when he was killed by the Joker. The series explores whether Batman can help Jason confront his inner demons while facing a new, mysterious villain. Jason Todd was first introduced in 1983, and fans were divided about his character. In 1988, readers voted on whether he should live or die in a storyline titled 'A Death in the Family.' The votes led to his death, but he made a comeback in 2005 as the character Red Hood. The first issue of Robin & Batman: Jason Todd #1 will be released on June 11. The series promises to dive deep into Jason's origin and his complicated relationship with Batman. Illustrations for the series include covers by Nguyen and others.
