New survival game "Echoes of Elysium" launches soon

A new survival game called Echoes of Elysium is set to launch later this year. The game, created by Loric Games, features a unique blend of airship building and combat. Players will explore a world inspired by Greco-Roman mythology, where an ancient engineer named Heron threatens paradise with his mechanical creations. In this game, players can build flying ships using materials harvested from floating islands. Instead of traditional base building, up to six players can collaborate to create mobile bases that resemble ancient triremes. These ships can be armed with various weapons, like harpoon guns and sawblade launchers. The game combines elements of resource gathering with shipboard adventures, similar to the game Sea of Thieves. Players will need to thoughtfully design their ships, as different materials affect speed and handling. Heavier materials might be more durable but require better propulsion, leading to strategic decisions in shipbuilding. During a demo at the Game Developers Conference, players faced challenges in constructing their ships. The design includes curved wall components for both style and functionality, allowing for efficient movement during battles. A standalone shipbuilder will be available on March 24, letting players create and save their ship designs. All custom ships may be used in the main game, including against Heron's forces. Echoes of Elysium is expected to begin early access later this year, offering players the chance to engage in creative airship battles against a backdrop of myth and ambition.
