In Kamareddy district, police rescued a newborn baby boy who was sold for 55,000 rupees by a couple. The baby, just eight days old, was taken back into custody on Tuesday after police learned of a dispute at a marketplace. This dispute involved people arguing over the money made from the baby's sale. The couple who sold the infant, Pullapu Rajamani and her husband Narasimlu, are from Kyasampalli village. They sold their baby on March 19 to another couple, who live in Sirikonda mandal. The sale involved middlemen, Pitla Venkati and Ramulu. After the police acted on the information, they visited the buyers’ home in Sirikonda and recovered the baby. The child has been placed with the child development project officer in Kamareddy. Authorities have filed cases against the sellers, the buyers, and the middlemen for breaking adoption laws. These violations are serious and could lead to prison sentences of up to seven years. The parents explained to police that they did not want the baby. The mother is in her 30s and the father is in his 60s, and they have been living on the roadside. The couple who bought the baby had been married for 18 years but had no children.
