Newton man arrested for armed home invasion in Milton

A man from Newton has been arrested after an armed home invasion in Milton. Police say the incident happened on March 17 at about 9:15 p.m. The suspect, 31-year-old Gilad Cohen, reportedly forced his way into a home on Pleasant Street and showed a firearm to the homeowner. Thankfully, the homeowner was able to escape and get help from neighbors. Cohen is said to have known the victim before the incident. He left the scene before police arrived. Later that night, Cohen voluntarily met with investigators at the Milton Police Station. He was arrested and charged with home invasion while armed. Cohen is now in custody and will face an arraignment in Quincy District Court. The police continue to investigate the case, and more charges may follow.
