NHA raises toll taxes on major motorways again

The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced a second increase in toll taxes for motorways this year. The new rates will take effect on April 1, 2025. Under the new toll rates, cars will pay Rs. 70, vans Rs. 150, and buses Rs. 250. For trucks, two- and three-axle vehicles will be charged Rs. 300, while larger trucks will face a toll of Rs. 550. These increases apply to major motorways, including M1, M3, M4, M5, M14, and E35. For example, the toll for cars on the M1 Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway has increased from Rs. 500 to Rs. 550. The M3 Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway saw a rise from Rs. 700 to Rs. 800. On the M4 Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad-Multan route, car tolls climbed from Rs. 950 to Rs. 1,050. The M5 Multan-Sukkur Motorway toll for cars is now Rs. 1,200, up from Rs. 1,100. Additionally, the M14 Dera Ismail Khan-Hakla Motorway now charges Rs. 650 for cars, an increase from Rs. 600. On the E35 Hasan Abdal-Havelian-Mansehra route, the charge for cars went from Rs. 250 to Rs. 300. Overall, toll rates for larger vehicles on these motorways range from Rs. 850 to Rs. 5,750.
