Nick Rolovich returns to college football as Cal Berkeley's senior offensive assistant after vaccine mandate firing

Former Washington State football coach Nick Rolovich has been hired as a senior offensive assistant at Cal Berkeley, marking his return to major college football after being fired in 2021 for refusing the state’s vaccine mandate. Rolovich, who was terminated after the university could not accommodate his unvaccinated status, is currently involved in a pending lawsuit against Washington State, claiming discrimination based on his religious beliefs. At Cal, he will work under head coach Justin Wilcox and new offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin. Rolovich previously coached at Hawaii and spent time as an assistant at a high school in California after his firing.
