Nicole Kidman secures INXS song rights for new film Babygirl
Nicole Kidman has secured the rights to use the INXS song "Never Tear Us Apart" in her new film, "Babygirl." Director Halina Reijn revealed that Kidman played a key role in obtaining the rights after initial attempts were unsuccessful. Reijn expressed her disappointment when the film's distributor, A24, initially declined the request. After reaching out to Kidman, she successfully negotiated the rights, allowing the song to be featured in a crucial montage scene. "Babygirl" stars Kidman as Romy, a business executive navigating her marriage and a new intern's attraction. The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, where Kidman won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress.
