Police in Ludhiana have arrested a man for allegedly abducting and torturing an auto driver. During the ordeal, Singh demanded a ransom of ₹ 2 lakhs from Prasad's family. On March 18, Prasad managed to escape by breaking a window with a gas cylinder. He raised an alarm, prompting locals to come to his aid. The police were informed, and a case was filed at the Sadar police station. Authorities stated that Singh is facing multiple charges, including assault and extortion. He claimed that he needed money for his father's medical treatment. The police are looking into whether anyone else may have been involved in the crime.
