Nine ELSS schemes exceed 12% returns over decade
Nine equity linked savings schemes (ELSS) have achieved over 12 percent annualized returns in the past decade. The top performer is the Quant ELSS Tax Saver Fund, with a return of 18.33%, followed by Motilal Oswal at 14.67%. ELSS schemes invest at least 80 percent in stocks and have a three-year lock-in period. They also offer tax deductions of up to ₹1.50 lakh under section 80C of the Income Tax Act. Currently, there are 43 ELSS schemes with total assets under management of ₹2.16 lakh crore. Notable funds include SBI Long Term Equity Fund and DSP ELSS Tax Saver Fund, based on asset size.
