Nine inter-State thieves arrested near Molakalmuru

Police in Chitradurga have arrested a gang of thieves who intended to steal hidden treasures in Bhairapur village, near Molakalmuru. The arrest took place on Saturday after officers received a tip-off about their activities. Nine individuals were taken into custody. They face charges for trying to loot archaeological monuments, treasures, and historical artifacts. The area is known for its many archaeological sites, making it a target for such crimes. The arrested individuals range in age from 34 to 60 years. They come from different places, including Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu and Telangana. Authorities seized various items from the suspects, including an SUV, generators, drilling machines, and machetes. Superintendent of Police Ranjit Kumar Bandaru praised the officers involved in the operation for their quick action.
