Nine sentenced to three years for assaulting doctor

A local court in Fatehabad sentenced nine men to three years in prison for assaulting a doctor. This sentencing follows an incident that occurred in 2017 when a mob attacked the doctor after a rape case was filed against him. The men included a politician, Rajendra Chaudhary Kaka, and former councillor Subhash Papiya, among others. One of the convicts, Gurmeet Mita, has since passed away. The remaining convicts are currently out on bail. The case began when Dr. Jimmy Jindal was accused of molesting a young girl who was taken to his hospital while she was ill. After the girl informed her family about the incident, they confronted the doctor. The police later added charges of rape against him. On October 28, 2017, a mob attacked Dr. Jindal at his hospital. They vandalized the property, dragged him outside, beat him, stripped him, and paraded him through the city with his face blackened. In 2021, the court had previously sentenced Dr. Jindal to five years in prison for his actions.
