Nine-year-old boy killed by falling goalpost in Aizawl

A nine-year-old boy died in Aizawl after a goalpost fell on him during a football match. The boy, named Bradly Lalhmangaiha, was playing as a goalkeeper when the incident happened. The match was part of an annual sports event organized by the Chhinga Vengthlang Presbyterian Church’s Sunday School kids’ congregation. It took place at the Electric Veng Indoor Sports Complex on Saturday. Bradly was rushed to Aizawl Civil Hospital, but doctors declared him dead shortly after. His death was confirmed at 10:30 AM. His funeral will be held on Sunday at the church hall. In response to the tragedy, the Electric Veng Indoor Sports Complex is temporarily closed. The church will also observe a day of mourning on Sunday.
