Nineteen rescued from capsized boat in Davao City
Nineteen people were rescued after their boat capsized in Davao City on Saturday. The incident occurred in Ilang when the motorbanca faced engine problems. This caused it to be overpowered by strong currents and large waves. The Philippine Coast Guard acted quickly. They received the report and started a search and rescue operation at 11:05 a.m. Units from Coast Guard Sub-Stations Ilang and Lasang, along with the BRP Malamawi, participated in the effort. All passengers were safely rescued and taken to the Department of Public Works and Highways Panacan Wharf for medical assistance. Authorities are investigating the incident to improve maritime safety in the area.
