Nitesh Tiwari initially resisted directing 'Chillar Party.'
Nitesh Tiwari, a National Award-winning filmmaker, recently shared that he never planned to make the film "Chillar Party." Known for hits like "Dangal," Tiwari spoke about the early days of creating the movie in a podcast with film expert Komal Nahta. He explained that he wrote the script with co-writer Vikas Bahl just for fun. At the time, Tiwari was working in advertising, and Bahl was busy with his own job. They started writing on weekends, and to their surprise, the script turned out well. Initially, they faced challenges getting the film made. Tiwari mentioned that they approached several directors, but many were not interested. They were concerned about the lack of a leading star and thought that a film about kids and a dog would not do well. As a result, they put the project on hold. Eventually, Bahl urged Tiwari to direct the film himself. Tiwari was hesitant, feeling he had no experience in directing. However, Bahl was persistent, saying he would help him. Tiwari decided to take the chance, thinking about the opportunity that lay ahead. If directing didn't work out, he felt he still had options in writing or engineering.
