No request to cancel Harry Roque's passport in Philippines
There is currently no request from the House of Representatives to cancel Harry Roque's passport. House Secretary General Reginald Velasco announced this during an interview on Tuesday. He highlighted that the House does not handle consular matters, stating that such issues fall under the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). Velasco explained that the DFA requires a court order to cancel a passport. He confirmed there is no outstanding request regarding Roque's passport cancellation. Velasco mentioned that cases against Roque are pending with the Department of Justice. He stated that once the case is in court, a judge may issue an order related to Roque’s passport or immigration status. Currently, Harry Roque is in the Netherlands, where he is part of former President Rodrigo Duterte's legal team in a case at the International Criminal Court. Roque is facing serious charges, including involvement in a qualified human trafficking case linked to illegal activities of the Pogo hub Lucky South 99 Corp. Additionally, he has an arrest order issued for his failure to provide requested documents related to his wealth.
