Nobu opens first UK hotel and residences in Manchester

Nobu Hospitality has announced plans for a new development in Manchester. The project will include a hotel, restaurant, and residences, marking Nobu's first residential project in the UK. It aims to introduce luxury hospitality and dining to the city. The new Nobu Hotel will be part of a 76-storey tower, measuring 246 meters, making it the tallest building outside London. The entire development, named Viadux 2, has a budget of £360 million and is subject to planning approval this spring. The hotel will feature 160 guest rooms, event spaces, and a Nobu restaurant and bar. Additionally, there will be 452 Nobu residences, designed with Japanese elegance and offering amenities like a swimming pool, spa, and fitness center. Nobu's arrival in Manchester reflects the city's growth as a luxury destination. The company's CEO, Trevor Horwell, expressed pride in bringing Nobu to his hometown, highlighting Manchester's vibrant culture and culinary scene. Salboy, the project’s development partner, believes this investment will elevate Manchester’s hospitality and dining experience. Co-founder Fred Done emphasized Nobu's reputation for world-class cuisine and hospitality. Overall, this project aims to blend Nobu's luxury experience with Manchester's unique character. The new development is expected to set a high standard for upscale living in the region.
