Noida Airport developers face Rs 10 lakh daily fine

The construction of Noida International Airport is facing delays due to problems in getting special-grade steel for its terminal building. This has raised concerns about completing the project on time. To ensure the project meets its new deadlines, the Uttar Pradesh government plans to impose heavy fines on the developers. If they do not finish on time, they could face a penalty of Rs 10 lakh per day after the deadline is missed. Currently, the terminal building is 80% complete, and the runway is 90% done. Authorities expect the runway to be finished by April. Meanwhile, water and sewage treatment work is 60% complete. Originally, the airport was set to open in December 2024, but this deadline has been pushed to late 2025. The government has extended the completion date by six months due to ongoing construction issues. The penalties aim to encourage faster work and ensure safety.
