Noida plots face cancellation for non-compliance

The Noida authority has announced plans to cancel plots from allottees who fail to develop their properties as required. This decision comes as many plots remain vacant, raising concerns about potential misuse. Allottees are expected to build homes on their plots within three to five years after receiving them. They must also pay lease rents and other charges on time. If they do not comply, the authority has the right to impose penalties or cancel the allotment. Lokesh M, the Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority, stated that reminders were sent to violators. The authorities recently identified nine residential plots in sectors 51 and 151 that have not been developed. Notices were issued to these allottees in February and March of this year. The Noida authority is cracking down on non-compliance. If the plot owners do not take action after receiving notices, their allotments could be canceled, and the plots may be reassigned to new owners. The authority faces challenges in ensuring that allocated plots are being used properly. Some owners hold on to their plots, hoping for higher resale values. This results in many areas looking neglected and can attract unwanted activity. Residents are voicing their concerns. NP Singh, president of a local citizens' group, highlighted that some plots have remained vacant and overgrown for years. He emphasized the need for the authority to address these issues quickly.
