Noida's power department accelerates repairs before summer
Noida's power department is working quickly to finish repairs and maintenance before the summer starts. The deadline for these repairs is March 31. They are focusing on upgrades for the financial year 2024-25. So far, the department has repaired 94 transformers and worked on various power lines at 71 and 316 locations. They have also improved switchgear protection and fixed issues in substations. These activities support larger projects under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme and the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition scheme. Harish Bansal, chief engineer of the power department, stated that the maintenance work for the 33/11 kV switchyard was completed in February. This upgrade will help with better monitoring and protection of the power supply. Residents have expressed frustration over ongoing power outages. They complain that even minor weather changes lead to problems like transformer failures and cable damage. Anil Kumar, a resident of Sector 55, emphasized the need for upgrading the aging infrastructure to ensure a more reliable power supply during the summer months.
