NordProtect launches as standalone product for U.S. users
NordVPN has announced that its cyber insurance service, NordProtect, is now available as a standalone product for users in the U.S. This means that people can purchase it separately from the NordVPN Prime plan, which previously included NordProtect. The new product offers various features aimed at protecting users from identity theft and fraud. With NordProtect, users can access up to $1 million in ID theft insurance. They also receive $50,000 in cyber extortion protection and up to $10,000 for support against online scams and fraud. NordProtect includes 24/7 monitoring of personal data on the dark web and provides monthly credit score reports. Users are alerted if their information, like email or social security number, is compromised. The service aims to assist individuals affected by online schemes. There are two pricing options for NordProtect: a one-month plan at $15.49 or a one-year plan at $7.49 per month, billed at $89.88 upfront. Both plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. NordVPN's Prime plan, which combines NordProtect with their top-rated VPN service, offers even more features for $0.90 more per month. It allows protection for up to 10 devices, includes malware protection, and provides 1 TB of encrypted cloud storage. Managing director Tomas Sinicki emphasized that the rise of online fraud is a growing concern, and the new features aim to help users deal with these threats effectively.
