North Carolina expands voting options for counties impacted by Hurricane Helene
North Carolina's election board has approved new voting measures for 13 counties impacted by Hurricane Helene. Residents will have increased options for mail-in voting and absentee ballot delivery, with changes effective immediately as early voting approaches. Voters can now request and receive mail-in ballots in person until November 4, a week longer than usual. They can also drop off ballots at any county board of elections or polling site, expanding previous restrictions. County boards can adjust early voting hours and polling locations as needed. Despite some storm damage, voters can track their absentee ballots, and same-day registration will be available during early voting.
