North Korea claims successful test of new hypersonic missile
North Korea has successfully tested a new intermediate-range hypersonic missile, claiming it can penetrate enemy defenses more effectively. The missile flew approximately 1,500 km at speeds of 12 times the speed of sound, according to state media. The missile features lighter carbon fiber materials, which enhance its performance. South Korea's military, however, estimates the missile's range to be about 1,100 km and questions the accuracy of North Korea's claims regarding its capabilities. This test marks North Korea's first missile launch since November. Analysts express concern over the advanced technology used, which is typically possessed only by a few nations, including Russia and China.
