North Korea condemns U.S. airstrikes on Yemen
North Korea has strongly criticized recent U.S. airstrikes in Yemen. The country’s state media reported that North Korea views these strikes as violations of international law and Yemen's sovereignty. The U.S. launched large-scale attacks last week against the Houthi group, which has ties to Iran. These strikes were a response to recent Houthi assaults on ships in the Red Sea. According to the Houthi-run health ministry, at least 53 people, including women and children, were killed. North Korea's ambassador to Yemen, Ma Dong Hui, condemned the U.S. actions. He stated that they indiscriminately targeted civilians and properties. He called the military strikes a "violent violation" of international law and the U.N. Charter. Ma expressed deep concerns over the U.S. military's actions, describing them as reckless and motivated by geopolitical ambitions. The U.S. Department of Defense reported that the airstrikes struck more than 30 locations and were carried out by fighter jets launched from an aircraft carrier in the Red Sea.
