Northern California to experience cool temperatures Tuesday
Northern California will experience cool temperatures on Tuesday morning, with many areas seeing lows in the upper 30s. The recent unsettled weather is ending, leaving the rest of the week mainly dry. Isolated thunderstorms with small hail were possible until Monday night. Snow showers in the Sierra will taper off late that evening, but drivers should still prepare for chain controls overnight. On Tuesday, afternoon highs in the Valley will reach the low 60s, with a mix of clouds and sun. A weak weather system is expected on Wednesday evening. There may be light rain in the Valley and two to four inches of snow in the Sierra summits. This system will move out after midnight, leading to dry conditions for the remainder of the week. Temperatures are predicted to rise, with highs in the 70s and plenty of sunshine by Sunday.
