Notre Dame Cathedral to reopen in Paris after five years of restoration
Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris will reopen to the public after five years of restoration following a devastating fire in April 2019. The fire caused significant damage, including the collapse of the spire and destruction of parts of the roof. The restoration, which cost $800 million, involved around 2,000 craftsmen and included repairing artworks, replacing windows, and recreating sculptures. A new fire prevention system has also been installed to enhance safety. The reopening ceremony will be attended by various dignitaries, including US President-elect Donald Trump and Prince William. Notre Dame, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is expected to attract millions of visitors once again.
