Notre Dame's Grand Organ restored and ready for first performance since 2019 fire
The Grand Organ of Notre Dame is set to be played again after extensive restoration. Over 8,000 pipes and 115 stops were cleaned and tuned, marking the first performance since the 2019 fire that damaged the cathedral. The restoration involved more than 30 artisans and took months to complete. The organ, which remained structurally intact, required careful cleaning to remove toxic dust from the collapsed roof. Organists will perform during the cathedral's reopening ceremony on Saturday. The music will be improvised, celebrating the organ's return and the collaborative effort of those who restored it.
