Nottingham Forest plans summer bid for Douglas Luiz

Nottingham Forest is considering a move to sign Douglas Luiz from Juventus. This is part of their plan to prepare for a possible return to the Champions League. The club hasn't appeared in this tournament for over 40 years. According to reports, Forest aims to strengthen their team under coach Nuno Espirito Santo. They are currently third in the Premier League with nine games remaining. The league may also gain an extra spot in next season’s Champions League. This means finishing in fifth place could be enough to qualify. Forest expressed interest in Douglas Luiz during the January transfer window. However, Juventus decided to keep him as he was a key signing last summer. Edu Gaspar, Forest's sporting director, is pushing for the transfer and has tried to bring Luiz to the club in the past. Juventus paid €50 million to acquire Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa last year. They are looking to recover as much of that fee as possible. Reports suggest that Forest might offer a season-long loan with an option to buy him later based on certain conditions.
