Nova Scotia man charged with intimate partner murder

A 31-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his intimate partner in Nova Scotia. The charge comes after the woman's death was reported as suspicious last September. Police responded to a report of a sudden death in Bible Hill on September 17, 2023. The victim was a 32-year-old woman. Initially, the man was arrested but released without charges. On March 17, 2025, police announced they had re-arrested the man and charged him with first-degree murder. They stated the case involves intimate-partner violence. This incident is part of a troubling trend in Nova Scotia, where there have been several intimate-partner homicides recently. Since October 2023, eight people, including seven women, have lost their lives in such cases.
