Nursing assistant injured in flow-meter explosion
A nursing assistant at SAT Hospital was seriously injured when an oxygen cylinder's flow-meter exploded on Monday. The explosion occurred while she was checking the oxygen level, causing significant damage to her left eye. An inquiry has been launched to investigate the incident, focusing on negligent handling of the valve. The hospital's deputy superintendent and two staff members will conduct the inquiry. The injured assistant, Shyla, 47, underwent surgery at a nearby hospital. Hospital authorities stated that staff training on equipment operation is provided, but safety protocols were not followed in this case.
