NVIDIA and Google collaborate to advance artificial intelligence
NVIDIA, Alphabet, and Google announced new projects today to advance artificial intelligence (AI) and make AI tools more accessible. Their collaboration aims to improve industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, and energy. The teams will work together on various initiatives. They plan to develop robots with better grasping skills, enhance drug discovery methods, and optimize energy grids. To support these efforts, Google Cloud will adopt new NVIDIA technologies, including their powerful GB300 NVL72 solution and RTX PRO 6000 GPU. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, expressed pride in the long partnership with NVIDIA. He highlighted their shared commitment to advancing robotics and AI benefits for a global audience. Jensen Huang, founder of NVIDIA, echoed this sentiment, noting the importance of their collaboration. The partnership will also focus on responsible AI. NVIDIA will utilize Google DeepMind's SynthID, which adds digital watermarks to AI-generated content. This aims to prevent misinformation and misattribution. Additionally, they are working on an open model called Gemma, which will be optimized to run on NVIDIA’s systems. This effort will boost accessibility for developers using AI. In the area of robotics, Alphabet's Intrinsic company is developing AI to make robots easier to program. They will create tools that allow robots to adapt their movements without extensive manual programming. Isomorphic Labs, another Alphabet initiative, is using AI to enhance drug discovery. Their new AI-driven engine will be hosted on Google Cloud with NVIDIA support. Finally, the companies are collaborating on technology for smarter electric grids, focusing on renewable energy sources and grid stability. They aim to tackle challenges in energy infrastructure to meet growing demands. Overall, this partnership marks a significant step in integrating AI into various sectors. Attendees at the NVIDIA GTC conference can learn more about these projects at the Google Cloud booth.
