Nvidia launches RTX 50 series gaming chips with new architecture at CES 2025
Nvidia unveiled its new RTX 50 series gaming chips at CES 2025, featuring the Blackwell architecture. The lineup includes desktop models starting at $549 and laptop versions estimated to begin at $1,299. The RTX 50 series promises significant performance improvements, with the RTX 5090 reportedly twice as fast as the previous RTX 4090. New AI technologies, including DLSS 4, enhance graphics and frame rates, while improving battery life in laptops by up to 40%. Nvidia's gaming division remains its second-largest revenue source, generating $3.3 billion in Q3, compared to $30.8 billion from its Data Center segment. This still surpasses AMD's gaming sales of $462 million in the same period.
