Nvidia unveils Cosmos platform to enhance AI training at CES 2025
Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, introduced a new platform called Cosmos at CES 2025. Cosmos aims to simulate real-world scenarios to train robots and autonomous vehicles, enhancing their understanding of the environment. Huang described it as a tool for "physical AI," likening it to Doctor Strange's ability to foresee multiple futures. Cosmos generates virtual environments using text, images, or videos, providing synthetic data for AI training. It has been trained on 20 million hours of video, focusing on various real-world dynamics. This development comes as Nvidia seeks to diversify its income amid competition from companies like Amazon and Google. Huang also announced a partnership with Toyota to advance autonomous vehicle technology. He emphasized the need for sophisticated AI to navigate complex environments, as the industry moves toward a future with more robots and autonomous vehicles.
