NYU aims for dual NCAA Division III championships
New York University is on the verge of making NCAA Division III history. The university's men's and women's basketball teams both reached the finals. They have a chance to win championships in the same season. The women’s team secured their spot in the final with a 74-55 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stout. This win marks their 61st consecutive victory. Belle Pellecchia was a standout player, scoring 22 points, while Natalie Bruns contributed 19 points. NYU, which remains undefeated at 30-0, will play Smith College on Saturday. This game is a rematch of last year's championship, where NYU won 51-41. The men's team also advanced by defeating Washington University (St. Louis) 72-60. Hampton Sanders scored 10 points, and Brock Susko had an impressive 16 points along with 12 rebounds. NYU, with a record of 29-1, will face Trinity College in their first championship game since 1994. Both games will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
