Nyziah Hunter transfers to Nebraska from California to boost passing game

Former California receiver Nyziah Hunter has committed to Nebraska after visiting the school. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound redshirt freshman has three years of eligibility left and aims to enhance Nebraska's passing game. Hunter had a strong first season at Cal, recording 578 yards and five touchdowns on 40 receptions. He is expected to fill the gap left by departing receivers Jahmal Banks and Isaiah Neyor. Hunter was a three-star recruit in the 2023 class, choosing Cal over several other schools. The winter transfer portal window opened on December 9, 2024, allowing players to transfer.
