Oakland Tech's ArDarius Grayson commits to Weber State

ArDarius Grayson, a standout basketball player from Oakland Tech, has committed to Weber State University. The announcement was made on his Instagram on Saturday. Grayson led his team to a Division II state championship in 2024 and has been recognized as the Oakland Athletic League's MVP for two consecutive years. This past season, he helped Tech secure both league and section titles and reach the NorCal Division II semifinals. In his final game, Grayson delivered an impressive performance, scoring 36 points, along with nine rebounds, seven assists, and other contributions. His attempt to force a second overtime with a half-court shot just missed the mark in what many considered one of the season's most exciting matches. Tech's coach, Karega Hart, praised Grayson's talent and work ethic, calling him one of the most dedicated players he has ever coached. Grayson follows in the footsteps of other successful point guards from the Oakland area, such as Damian Lillard, who also played at Weber State before entering the NBA. Despite not winning a second straight state title, Grayson expressed pride in his team's achievements and the journey they took together. He emphasized the progress they made throughout the season.
