Officials begin damage assessment after deadly storms in southeastern US
Severe storms swept through the southeastern U.S. over the weekend, resulting in at least four fatalities from tornadoes in Texas and Mississippi. Officials are now assessing the damage across multiple states. Reports indicate at least 45 instances of tornado damage in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. The storms disrupted holiday travel, causing hazardous road conditions and significant flight delays. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport experienced over 600 flight delays as a result of the severe weather.
